Where does "PointyKitty" come from?
I've always enjoyed simple pieces with a bit of feline flair. the "pointy" in PointyKitty is a Simpsons reference from episode 5F13, "This Little Wiggy."

Where do you get your materials?
The jewelry business is far from eco-friendly, so I've made it a point to only purchase materials from companies I can feel good about buying from. If at all possible, the metals used in our pieces are recycled from the earth's existing metal supply, and is not bought from miners.

For my beads, I avoid buying from countries whose beads are mainly produced under sweatshop conditions and for below a living wage. This increases the cost of my materials, but their superior quality becomes obvious when they are made by skilled artisans.

How do I care for my...?
Simply handle your jewelry with common sense. Do not store in direct sunlight or an area with lots of moisture (i.e. the bathroom). Generally avoid contact with water and never immerse in chlorinated water.

Do you accept custom or wedding orders?
Of course! As you look through our online store and gallery, please keep in mind that we want the piece of jewelry you select to be specially crafted and customized to fit your tastes and personality.

We've remade old pieces, incorporated family heirlooms into new work, or simply brought to reality that piece you've always dreamed of!

If you see a style you would like, but would rather have a different stone (such as your birthstone), please contact us at orders@pointykitty.net, and we will help you create a custom piece.

Do you sell your products offline?
Yes. Our products are currently available at a number of retailers in the midwest, including Savoir Faire Cards and Gifts and Hue Art Gallery in Madison, Wisconsin.

Privacy Policy:
First and foremost we would like you to shop at PointyKitty Studios with confidence. The Studio hates spam, and we're sure you do too! That's why we will never sell or share your contact information with anyone.

Methods of Payment:
We accept credit card payments through PayPal. Nonetheless, we do understand  that some of you may still feel uncomfortable releasing your credit card information online, and are happy to accommodate you by accepting cashier's checks or money orders. Simply e-mail payment@pointykitty.net with your order and we will direct you from there.

Sorry, absolutely no personal checks.  Please be advised that issuing a check/money order significantly slows down the general transaction.

Shipping:
Many items in my shop are made to order, so your piece will be handmade just for you. The wait time is abour 10 business days before your items are shipped. This time frame may change depending on the season and the number of orders before yours. If you need your item quickly, please email me and I'll do my best to get it out to you as soon as possible.

We try to make shipping rates as reasonable as possible for our clients. Checkout will automatically calculate your shipping rate based on weight and adds a flat $1.50 handling fee. Items are shipped within the U.S.A. via USPS Priority Mail. Please allow 5 to 7 business days (excluding holidays) for Priority Mail delivery.

We certainly welcome international clients! International orders will be shipped via USPS Global Priority mail. Please allow 10-14 business days for delivery. For both American and international orders, insurance is automatically figured into your shipping rate for totals of $150.00 or more. All clients will be notified by e-mail when shipment goes out.

Sales Tax:
Items shipped within Wisconsin are charged the appropriate sales tax.

Returns:

We do not provide refunds of any kind on earrings for hygienic reasons.

Due to the time-intensive process and regular communication with the client, we do not provide refunds on custom orders.

We will accept returns granted that the item is received in an unused/mint condition within 10 business days of receipt of purchase. PointyKitty Studios is not responsible for items damaged or lost while being returned to us and we do not refund shipping costs.

Before purchasing, please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions. We have a 48 hour email turnover Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

About our handcrafted items:
Because our items are handcrafted, variations may appear from piece to piece. Each item may be one-of-a-kind or limited in quantity. Therefore, we do not guarantee availability.
